MLBB Season 38: 5 heroes to rank up faster

TL;DR

  • Ranking up is difficult in MLBB, especially for solo queue players.
  • Using Meta heroes can significantly increase the chances of victory.
  • Ideally, a full squad of five players is the best way to rank up.
  • There are a few best Season 38 MLBB heroes that stand out from the rest.
  • Mastering at least two roles is the key to reaching a high rank in Mobile Legends Bang Bang.

The new season of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang has dropped, and with it, plenty of changes to heroes, items, and abilities. Climbing the ranked ladder can be hard, especially when playing solo and with non-meta heroes.

Reaching the Mythical Glory ranks is hard, even with a team. If you are playing solo, it can be a nightmare to carry the whole team, especially when your favourite hero is nerfed. Thankfully, just like every season, a few best Season 38 MLBB heroes can help you rank up way faster.

MLBB Season 38: Biggest changes

Alice, the tanky bloody demon mage, got a revamp (no pun intended). Unlike Grock, who received a significant damage boost, Alice’s changes seem milder. The mage already had good sustain and damage potential, but the patch mixed things up too much. She is still good in the right hands, but if you haven’t tried her out before, there are plenty of mages that outclass her.

MLBB Season 38 also introduces a new seasonal achievement system, accompanied by new rewards. The map modifiers are an interesting change, giving each round something new to try out. Roam changes also impact the early game, with less EXP awarded to roamers. The latest hero, Obsidia, has good damage potential, but can be easily countered by enemy roamers in high ranks.

We recommend learning a few critical heroes in each of the five roles; this way, you can still contribute to the team’s victory.

MLBB Season 38: 5 best heroes

Here are the five best Season 38 MLBB heroes that you should keep an eye on.

1. Gold Lane – Melissa and Granger

Picking the gold lane as a marksman? You’ll love the versatility of Melissa or Granger, even if the friendly Roam is busy chasing kills in the EXP lane. Melissa is still strong in MLBB Season 38, despite her movement and doll damage nerf. Her defence is also stellar, using her ultimate to either pin enemies to walls or escape a tricky situation. Melissa is an advanced-level MLBB hero; learning her can be difficult for beginners.

Granger remains one of the top marksmen in MLBB, even in the current meta. His movement is unmatched, and his ultimate remains one of the most damaging. You’ll need to land your skill shots to be effective with this marksman. He can also work as a jungler, but will require the roamer’s aid in the early game.

2.  EXP Lane – Arlott and Phoveus

Arlott is among the best Season 38 MLBB heroes to rank up; however, he is not easy to play. The fighter hero that wields two lances relies on his excellent mobility and crowd control to take down enemies. He is a demon-human hybrid that utilises skill-based abilities to deal massive damage. His passive “Demon Gaze” marks enemies affected by crowd control, which he can use to dash towards them.

Phoveus is a tanky fighter that can not only take punishment but also deal a lot of damage. His speciality is chasing enemies and crowd control. If you need a secondary tanky hero that can take charge of the front line, Phoveus is the right choice in MLBB Season 38. Gloo is another excellent choice if you need more damage-taking abilities and crowd control. The tank can disrupt the enemy team composition with AOE crowd control and his ultimate.

3. Jungle – Yi Sun-shin and Lancelot

Yi Sun-shin is a versatile MLBB hero who can play as an assassin or a marksman. His abilities let him execute devastating ranged attacks and switch to melee when needed. The hybrid marksman/assassin character has been among the hardest heroes to master, but if you do learn, you’ll rank up fast. The high-skill nature can be daunting at first, but it is gratifying to land your skill shots and take your team to victory.

Lancelot and his dashes can disrupt most team compositions. He can swiftly bypass the enemy frontlines and attack the gold or mid lane damage dealers. The dashes can force enemy roamers and EXP laner to readjust their positioning, which can make gaps for your team to counterattack. Learn how to dash properly and you’ll be unstoppable in MLBB Season 38.

4. Roam Lane – Floryn and Grock

Floryn topped our MLBB hero tier list as a roamer, too, and she is still viable in Season 38. While she is squishy, she can provide invaluable healing and crowd control abilities. In lane, she can help keep the gold laner healthy while stunning enemies for either kills or defence. Her global healing ultimate can turn tides in team fights.

Grock underwent a significant revamp, making him one of the most devastating roamers in the game. If you love invading enemy jungle or simply being a pest to all lanes, Grock is your hero. Whether you build him as a pure tank, pure attack damage hero, or something in between, his crowd control remains remarkable. The wall and ultimate combo is enough to drop enemy health bars to half. Bring a capable friend, and you can be Mythical in no time.

5. Mid Lane – Zhuxin and Kimmy

There are plenty of great meta mid lane heroes in MLBB Season 38. Pharsa and Lylia are always good picks if you have good positioning sense. So picking the best mid lane hero is hard. Zhuxin is a safe pick as she can deal consistent damage and has excellent crowd control abilities. Combine that with her easy-to-understand playstyle, and you have a good mage that can not only get kills but also help the team score them.

Kimmy’s revamp has made her among the best mid lane heroes in the game. She has a long-range ultimate that has built-in crowd control. She has a stun and a dash that come in handy in tricky situations. She can now shoot homing missiles while dashing, adding an offensive element to the ability.

Conclusion

While these are the best Season 38 MLBB heroes that can take you to the top, there are still great ones that are missing from the list. If you are playing in duos, the Diggie and Axia combo is fantastic, unless there’s a Lolita on the enemy team. Minsitthar is still good in the EXP lane, and as a roamer, Hayabusa is a reliable assassin, and Cici is great in one-on-one fights.

Play the heroes you are most comfortable with; in the right hands, even C-tier heroes can do wonders. A good Faramis player can make the weakest hero shine. Hone the heroes you like and you’ll naturally climb.
