The top player on FACEIT‘s North American ladder, Nocries, has visited the tournament platform’s headquarters in an effort to prove they’re not cheating.

The Counter-Strike player has quickly become a hot topic of conversation after earning over 4,200 ELO on the ladder.

On September 24th, 2025, FACEIT revealed nocries had accepted an invitation to the esports tournament platform’s New York headquarters to compete in matches under supervision and using hardware set up by its anti-cheat team.

Across four matches played across the day, the player won three out of four, dealing over 100 damage per round in all four. In the matches won, the player also scored over 20 eliminations.

Nocries has caught the attention of the Counter-Strike community after rising to the top of the North American ladder. In recent weeks, the player has battled accusations of cheating thanks to their in-game performances.

Throughout 2025, nocries has played 491 FACEIT matches, resulting in their ELO rating increasing by almost 1,800. In total, the player has competed in 1,134 matches, scoring a win rate of 57%.

This isn’t the first instance of FACEIT intervening to test the legitimacy of players at its own headquarters. After being accused of cheating in 2017, Team Vitality rifler Robin ‘Ropz‘ Kool attended the platform’s London headquarters after performing well in FPL matches. After being found innocent, Ropz has since gone on to win several Tier 1 events.

Is Nocries Cheating?

If FACEIT deems nocries a legitimate player, they could be the next up-and-coming talent emanating from the North American ladder. Evidence shows that they are still performing well on FACEIT’s own equipment, seemingly disproving the cheating allegations.

As a result of proving their innocence, it will be interesting to see if any esports organisations will add nocries to their roster in a bid to capitalise on their talent.
