A new closed beta for a Riot Games Partner Program is underway, designed to bring new benefits and improved support to creators of League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics and VALORANT.
This marks the evolution of the original League Partner Program, which had been on pause for a few years.
According to Riot, a limited group of creators worldwide have already been invited to join the test. Riot explained that smaller tests allow the company to monitor quality and ensure the system works across different regions before rolling it out more widely.
The original League Partner Program aimed to reward creators who consistently produced League of Legends content with perks such as free in-game items, developer access, and chroma giveaways for their communities. However, new applications were frozen in 2018 as Riot began planning a more comprehensive system to support creators across its growing portfolio of games.
What the New Partner Program Will Offer
The first perks of being a Riot Partner are scheduled to arrive in late October, said Riot Games.
This includes cosmetic rewards and recognition within each game, a ‘Like, Comment, Subscribe’ title in League of Legends, a ‘VALORANT Partner’ title in VALORANT, and a unique Little Legend in TFT. Riot Games also plans to test additional benefits over the coming months, some of which may remain permanent while others could be rotated or adjusted.
The company said its long-term goal is to make the program feel ‘meaningful and intentional’ for creators. The beta phase is intended to gather feedback from both players and partners so that the final version is worth the wait when applications reopen.
At this stage, the programme only covers League of Legends, TFT, and VALORANT, but Riot has confirmed to eventually expand creator support to Wild Rift, Legends of Runeterra, Riftbound and 2XKO.
Compared to the old League Partner Program, the new version introduces different ways for creators to connect with their audiences.
The applications will remain invite-only until late 2026. So far, Riot Games has yet to share a comprehensive list of criteria it will use to select new participants to its partner programme. However, it is expected that creators who produce consistent, active content, whether focused on a single Riot title or multiple games, will have the strongest chance of being considered when the programme fully opens.
