Battlefield 6 offers new insights into destruction, but fans are annoyed about something completely different

Battlefield 6 has shown new footage of the destruction of urban areas, and fans are thrilled. But now they’re annoyed about something else.

Developer studio Dice has released new footage that provides new insights into the destruction mechanics of Battlefield 6. The community’s reactions are mostly enthusiastic. Nevertheless, the image is causing discontent, as many fans now suspect they will have to do without something else.

Twelve years later

The new material from Battlefield 6 shows a before-and-after image of the New York map Manhattan Bridge. It shows a large building facade and the gigantic bridge in the background.

In the after image, the building facade and roof have been completely blown away.
All that remains are the back walls of the rooms and individual protrusions where the floors once were.
A comment that aptly describes the mood of the Reddit community:

A comment that aptly captures the mood of the Reddit community, comes from Martian General:

It looks like the complaints from 2013 that the city maps in Battlefield 4 offered little destruction are finally being addressed—twelve years later. The before and after looks great!

User DarkIcedWolf adds that Dice has already taken some of the criticism into account in Battlefield 5. However, in his opinion, there would have been much more potential to incorporate destruction there. For example, in Rotterdam, where the feature was limited to a few main buildings.

Not everything is positive

Even though the new image has received positive reactions overall, there are new points of criticism. Based on the images, many fans fear that they will not be able to access the Manhattan Bridge on the map. It is simply too far away and much too high.

Some Reddit users are now hoping that it will at least be possible to access it by helicopter. Others, however, are certain that the bridge will still be too high to reach.

The happiest Reddit user is probably Nubgirl, who works in New York and can now blow up her workplace after work. She writes about the picture: “This is exactly where I eat my lunch every day. It’s going to be so much fun to destroy my office after a long day at work.”
