Riot Bans 40,000 VALORANT Bots, Unleashes Replay System

Developer Riot Games has taken a little victory lap in the VALORANT 11.06 patch notes, as its Global Community Manager, Ashley Tsao, announced that developers had banned 40,000 bots over the past six months: and the hope is that players will see fewer of them in matches going forward.

Let me just say: 01100010 01111001 01100101 00100000 01100010 01101111 01110100 01110011

That’s binary for “bye bots.”

With the self-indulgence out of the way, there’s another piece of news from the latest VALORANT update. The long-awaited Replay system is finally live on PC, so let’s take a quick look.

VALORANT Replay system is live: How it works

The Replay system is designed as a tool to show a complete view of your recent VALORANT matches. It is, of course, a fantastic feature that will help gamers understand what happened in every single second of a match.

You can easily analyze mistakes, pinpointing what went wrong so you can improve as an individual and with your team.

VALORANT players in China on PC will have to wait until October 9th for the release of Patch 11.07b for the Replay system to go live. According to Riot Games, console players should mark their calendars for November 11 or 12, depending on their region, with the Patch 11.10 release time set for 09:00 PT.

Check out a short-but-sweet list of functions that the VALORANT Replay system can accomplish:

  • Observe the game from all 10 players’ first-person perspectives
  • Observe the game with a third-person free observer cam
  • Fast-forward, slow down, and pause the game. (Speeds: .1x, .25x, .5x, 1x, 2x, 4x, 8x)
  • Skip to each round of the game
  • Time-jump to anywhere in the game
  • Show/hide the minimap and HUD
  • Open the combat report at any time

The rest of the VALORANT Update 11.06 patch notes are relatively uneventful, with a rare bug on all platforms fixed relating to Yoru and Reyna reappearing in their original location after invisibility ends.

Further, on the PC performance side, the RawInputBuffer setting has been removed, and on consoles, an issue with how the New Player Tips were displayed has been fixed. Lastly, the developer mentioned this known issue: “The highlight behavior for dropped weapons and the Spike is incorrect and will highlight when players are merely nearby rather than when directly looking at them.”

The issue is only affecting console players and will be resolved with the release of the VALORANT 11.07 update.
