The release of BF6 is just the beginning.
Battlefield 6 is designed to be a live service game. And this much has already been officially revealed by the developers: there will be seasons with new content such as weapons, maps, modes, and more.
But thanks to data mining, we already have a much clearer picture of Season 1, even before it has been announced.
We are compiling all the leaked information from reliable sources.
Who is the source? The information comes from the 1BF Leaker Group and the data miner Temporyal. They are considered to be fundamentally credible. However, the information cannot be independently verified and should therefore not be considered reliable.
The setting of Season 1
According to the information available to us, Season 1 of Battlefield 6 will be set on the US West Coast and will be based on locations such as L.A. and Hollywood.
This California scenario would complement the US East Coast very well, which is already represented by several maps at launch (Empire State, Manhattan Bridge).
An attack by the Pax Armata faction on a research laboratory in California is also the story background for the Battle Royale mode, which is set to launch with Season 1.
The maps of Season 1
In total, Season 1 of Battlefield 6 will include three new multiplayer maps, some of which are separate areas from the large Battle Royale map. The maps are:
- Badlands/Blackwell Farm: A large, open map set in the oil fields of California, featuring drilling rigs and lots of open steppe landscape. The first gameplay footage from this map has already been leaked.
- Eastwood: A large map set in the hills of California with a large villa complex in the center. The estate is surrounded by parkland, gardens, and palm-lined streets.
Battle Royale in Season 1
Season 1 will most likely also see the release of a BR mode for Battlefield 6. Similar to Warzone and Call of Duty, this will function as a free-to-play spin-off.
The mode is set on a huge map in California. Nine minutes of the Battle Royale map have already been leaked in advance.
To shrink the map during a match, the devastating firestorm from Battlefield 5: Firestorm, the ultimately unsuccessful BR mode from 2019, is set to return.
BF6’s Battle Royale will feature a mission system, vehicles, destruction, and a new Oversight system for killed teammates.
You can find all the details in our leak overview of Battlefield 6’s Battle Royale.
Gauntlet mode in Season 1
In addition to BR mode, Gauntlet will be another new game variant in Season 1.
This is a competitive tournament format in which individual squads battle it out for victory in rounds – similar to The Finals.
Gauntlet is played on the large Battle Royale map. Thanks to an extensive leak, we already know the rules, mission types, and rough gameplay of BF6 Gauntlet.
It remains to be seen whether all the predictions for Season 1 will come true as in the leaks. Short-term plan changes are by no means uncommon in the development of games and live service content, so individual elements may well be postponed or significantly altered.
