Tournament organiser Project Night Shift will host its inaugural Marvel Rivals competition, featuring top teams from both the European and North American scene.

In a similar fashion to the Rivals Fight Night series, Shift #1 marks the beginning of a weekly series where the best esports rosters face off, beginning on September 4th, 2025 at 16:00 PM EST.

The tournament will be presented by gaming peripheral brands Intel Gaming and MSI, two active brands within the esports scene.

How will Project Night Shift Work?

As was the case with past Rivals Fight Night events, there will be a European and North American division. Six teams in total will go head to head, from newcomers such as Chopped, to well-known organisations like 100 Thieves.

Each region will begin with a challenger’s match, where two teams play for a place in the finals. The winner will then fight the defending champion from the previous week. For the inaugural competition, the defending champions are the two highest-placing teams from the Ignite Mid Season Finals.

These are all the scheduled matches revealed for Project Night Shift #1:

  • Europe
    • Chopped vs Al Qadsiah
    • Team1 vs Challnger (TBD)
  • North America
    • 100 Thieves vs FlyQuest
    • ENVY vs Challenger (TBD)

As of writing, prize pools have yet to be confirmed. However, all matches will be broadcasted on the official Project Night Shift YouTube and Twitch channels.

Night Shift #1 Preview

The top teams to look out for are undoubtedly the Mid Season Finals champions and runners-up, Team1 (Europe) and ENVY (North America).

Team1 in particular brought a variety of surprise tactics into the major in China, utilising niche picks such as Jeff the Landshark to secure the win. Only time will tell if Team1 has any other tricks up its sleeve, especially in light of the Season 3.5 update.

ENVY was a powerhouse in the Mid Season Finals, falling short only in the Grand Finals against RAD EU (Team1). During this tournament, ENVY defeated 100 Thieves 3-0 in the Upper Bracket Finals, becoming the team to beat at the time. As a result, fans anticipate whether or not 100 Thieves will progress to the finals for a rematch, either to claim a revenge victory or once again suffer a landslide defeat.
