This week, Epic is offering two free games again, with the highlight even having 95 percent positive Steam reviews.

Right on time for Thursday evening, Epic is releasing the next free full versions for PC this week. Starting on August 28 at 5:00 p.m. German time, you’ll have exactly one week to get the adventure game Machinarium and the racing game Make Way permanently and free of charge. All you need is a free account at the Epic Games Store.

Free at Epic: Machinarium & Make Way

With Machinarium, you can catch up on one of the great classics of the indie scene: Released in 2009, this point-and-click adventure comes from Czech studio Amanita Design, known for its unique, hand-drawn graphic style.

You take on the role of Josef, a little robot who is abandoned in a junkyard and must make his way back to his hometown. Not only do you have to solve tricky puzzles and put a stop to the nasty robots of the “Black Cap Brotherhood,” but you also have to rescue his kidnapped girlfriend Berta. Machinarium tells its charming story entirely without dialogue. Communication takes place via animated thought bubbles.

Who is it for? If you’re a fan of classic adventures, clever puzzle design, and a lovingly crafted game world, Machinarium is an absolute must. The game has won numerous awards and enjoys an “overwhelmingly positive” rating on Steam with over 14,000 reviews.

Make Way is the second game in the bundle and delivers fast-paced and, above all, unpredictable multiplayer action. It’s a top-down racing game that is strongly reminiscent of classics like Micro Machines on the SNES, but adds a cool twist: you build the track yourself, lap by lap.

Before each race, all players are given a selection of different track sections, from simple curves to jump ramps and loops. You take turns attaching these components to the existing track, thus extending the course. The result is a rapidly growing, chaotic structure on which you then battle it out with weapons and power-ups. Since the tracks are constantly changing, no two races are alike.
