Team Liquid Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) player Russel ‘Twistzz’ Van Dulken has outlined several issues with Valve‘s first-person shooter title.
After outlining the issues, the veteran of North American CS2 added that a flawed anti-cheat and rubberbanding are negatively impacting the in-game experience.
Twistzz is the latest professional CS2 player to share his personal frustrations with the title, following Team Vitality player Robin ‘Ropz’ Kool’s criticism surrounding its optimisation.
The first item on Twistzz’s list is Valve Anti-Cheat (VAC), which has continued to let cheaters slip through the net, resulting in legitimate players encountering those using illegal tools to gain an unfair advantage during matches.
Another criticism involves a bug that causes players to rubberband off teammates while moving out of spawn at the start of a round. This particular issue has been present since CS2 was in its beta phase before its worldwide rollout. Due to the rubberbanding, players can struggle to hit specific timings during the opening seconds of a round.
The third and final area of concern involves a new bug where flashbangs cause a deafening effect that remains for several seconds after the grenade has detonated.
“This started happening after the animation update, I believe,” said Twistzz on social media. “Even after getting blind and avoiding the next flash, it will still deafen you for 4-6 seconds as if you were blinded. Avoiding multiple flashes will still remove hearing as well.”
When Is The Next CS2 Update?
Valve applies updates to CS2 on a regular basis and doesn’t follow a schedule, making it impossible to determine when the next update for the title will take place.
The most recent update arrived on August 27th, 2025, adjusting various weapon inspect animations along with restoring some grenade lineup visuals on Ancient.
If Twistzz’s concerns are addressed in a future update, there’s a high chance of the next CS2 update having a positive impact on Tier 1 tournaments and the wider ecosystem.
