DraftKings has launched a sweepstakes giveaway as part of Responsible Gaming Education Month. The campaign will give users the chance to win Super Bowl tickets if they use the betting platform’s gambling monitoring tools.

In a press release, Lori Kalani, Chief Responsible Gaming Officer at DraftKings, stated, “We are excited to launch our sweepstakes initiative in celebration of Responsible Gaming Education Month, inviting customers to explore our tools in a fun and engaging way.”

DraftKings has expanded its responsible gaming tools, introducing My Budget Builder launched in June this year. This adds to other tools, such as My Stat Sheet, to help users keep track of their betting.

Esports Bettors and DFS Players Can Participate

The tools can be used for esports bettors, as well as players using DraftKings’ daily fantasy sports (DFS). This includes esports DFS, such as DraftKings Counter-Strike content.

Users engaging with the tools will enter sweepstakes draws to win regular-season NFL tickets, and have a chance to win a trip to Super Bowl LX.

Kalani added, “As a leading operator, we are committed to providing customers with tools that support responsible play and enhance their experience.

“This campaign recognizes and celebrates customers who use these resources, helping to foster a more informed and responsible gaming culture.”

Responsible Gaming Education Month in September

The American Gaming Association (AGA) launched Responsible Gaming Education Month in 2022, and it is observed annually in September. This coincides with the start of the new football season, one of the most significant betting events in the calendar.

The campaigns run by AGA members, such as DraftKings and other gambling companies, are improving public opinion. In 2024, 75% of Americans felt the gaming industry behaves responsibly, and 65% saw it as actively discouraging problem gambling—up from 55% in 2023.

Nonetheless, betting companies have faced accusations that instead of protecting users, they encourage problem gambling.

DraftKings is facing lawsuits from the City of Baltimore, as well as individuals in several states, arguing that it took advantage of vulnerable users.

The wife of a user in New Jersey recently filed a lawsuit alleging that the company encouraged her husband to gamble away family savings through a targeted VIP program.

The betting and gaming site also paid out $3 million to customers in Connecticut last month over misleading bonus terms.

DraftKings hopes the campaign will enhance its public image and increase active users on the platform. In its Q2 results, the company reported that monthly users significantly decreased, compared to Q1.
