Battlefield 6: Full Map List

With the excellent Battlefield 6 open beta now behind us and fans of military FPS counting the days until its October 10 launch, we figured it was the perfect time to look into the full list of BF6 maps confirmed to be available at launch plus what might be on the horizon.

As the release date approaches, we’re also collecting the details on the complete BF6 weapons list (expect updates as more are revealed) and the cheats and console commands players will be able to utilize in the single-player campaign. Stay tuned for more when the game opens its gates.

All the Battlefield 6 maps confirmed so far

During the open beta, players were able to navigate, attack, defend, and (partially) destroy four multiplayer maps. Unless the powers that be surprise us at launch, EA has confirmed we’ll only be getting nine maps at launch, ranging from close-quarters killzones to large-scale locations that aim to remind BF3/4 veterans of the good old days. Here’s the full list:

Siege of Cairo

Battlefield 6: Full Map List

“Prepare for intense urban combat on the streets of central Cairo. In Siege of Cairo, combat is a game of cat and mouse between infantry and tanks. Fight in alleys, duck in and out of buildings, and always watch your six.”

Siege of Cairo is the “smaller” (still big-ish) of the two Egypt maps available at launch. We played it during the open beta and found it quite enjoyable due to the mix of vehicular action and close-quarters combat, so it’s bound to become a favorite once the full game launches.

Iberian Offensive

Battlefield 6: Full Map List

“Sprint through Gibraltar’s winding streets, stalk its alleyways, dodge heavily-armored tanks, and tear through buildings–Iberian Offensive has many ways to secure a tactical advantage.”

The first of the two Gibraltar maps in the game feels similar to Siege of Cairo in size, but the focus on infantry combat was a bit more apparent during the beta. Size adjustments after that build could happen following some criticisms, but it looks like the main idea behind the map was giving players a bunch of narrow streets and some plazas first and foremost. Just urban warfare at its finest.

Liberation Peak

Battlefield 6: Full Map List

“Welcome to Tajikistan’s glorious mountainside. This vast rocky terrain provides cover for jets and helicopters during aerial dogfights, or a height advantage for infantry and tanks.”

The most open of the beta maps features helicopters and fighter jets, yet many players felt it wasn’t nearly as big as Battlefield’s most memorable. Regardless, it shines when played in the relentless Breakthrough mode (attack/defense) and feels like a new paradise for snipers. It’ll be interesting to see how sentiment around it evolves once the game launches.

Empire State

Battlefield 6: Full Map List

“Empire State is an infantry-only map featuring explosive engagements spanning alleys, rooftops, and the iconic streets of Brooklyn, New York.”

Despite some breathtaking vistas and rather open streets around the buildings at the center of the map, Empire State was built with infantry in mind, so it ends up feeling like a big Call of Duty map for 64 players. The added verticality is a nice touch, but we’re of the opinion it could definitely use a few light vehicles.

Operation Firestorm

Battlefield 6: Full Map List

“The classic Battlefield 3 map returns. Fight for control of a burning oil field with infantry, tanks, helicopters, and jets.”

The first of many promised classic Battlefield maps, Operation Firestorm is all-out warfare in a familiar desert setting which is supporting all sorts of vehicles and offers plenty of wide open spaces. It remains to be seen how it’s changed after its transition after so many years, but we’re pretty sure this one won’t leave most custom servers’ rotations.

Saints Quarter

Battlefield 6: Full Map List

“A close-quarters combat map designed for fast-paced infantry-only fights, set around a fountain flanked by destructible buildings in Gibraltar’s Old Town.”

Despite Iberian Offensive already feeling ‘narrow’ and tight, it appears the second Gibraltar-set map will be even smaller and more tailored to infantry combat. The CoD crowd and those who want to quickly level up their guns will love it, but we’re hoping for some kind of twist which can elevate it.

New Sobek City

Battlefield 6: Full Map List

“Brave the heat as infantry, advance the frontline in a tank, or take to the skies in an attack helicopter. Set in a construction yard on the outskirts of Cairo’s suburbs, New Sobek City wages all-out war across construction sites and massive sand dunes.”

Briefly seen in the multiplayer reveal trailer, New Sobek City promises the all-out, large-scale assault on Cairo that players were expecting when they jumped into Siege of Cairo in the beta. Whereas that (notable) map focused on street firefights and close encounters, New Sobek City aims to be the big ‘peak Battlefield’ experience you love in an all-new setting.

Mirak Valley

Battlefield 6: Full Map List

“A prime destination for all-out warfare, Mirak Valley is the largest map at launch–a massive war-torn landscape filled with every type of vehicle.”

Even bigger will be Mirak Valley, a map being kept under wraps as far as official promotional materials go aside from some quick glimpses. This screenshot (above) alone suggests we’ll be visiting a huge war-torn battlefield away from cities, and the Battlefield 1 vibes are strong with this one.

Manhattan Bridge

Battlefield 6: Full Map List

“Engage in close-quarters gunplay on the streets, take to the skies in an attack helicopter, or change the flow of combat with large scale destruction.”

If you wanted a New York City map that was big enough to accommodate helicopter combat, you’re in luck, as the key Manhattan map seen in the multiplayer trailer is bringing the thunder. We’re hoping for more vehicles and a more complex layout, but its verticality alone sounds enticing.

Leaked Battlefield 6 maps

On top of the locales confirmed to be available at launch, we’ve heard about upcoming maps and potential surprises worth getting excited about. It must be noted, however, the information below comes from datamines and thus could describe content which is reworked before it hits the live game or scrapped altogether.

Via The Game Post, here’s what a recent datamine revealed:

  • Abbasid (Cairo)
  • Outskirts (Cairo)
  • Battery (Gibraltar)
  • Limestone (Gibraltar)
  • Capstone (Tajikistan)
  • Tungsten (Tajikistan)
  • Dumbo (Brooklyn)
  • Aftermath (Brooklyn)
  • Eastwood (California)
  • Badlands (California)
  • Granite (California / Battle Royale Gauntlet)

As you can tell, this reported list of launch maps goes beyond the nine we’ve already discussed, which suggests we may be getting two (three if we count the BR mode one) more maps set in California that haven’t been revealed yet. As for Operation Firestorm, it’s part of the leaked list of returning maps from past games:

  • Operation Firestorm
  • Propaganda
  • Talah Market
  • Downtown

As you can see, Battlefield Studios are leaning hard on the ‘golden era’ of Battlefield, at least for the first few returning maps. That said, it’s a surprise to see Hardline’s Downtown make a return, but we think it makes sense: It was a great map that we can easily see reframed as an all-out modern warfare scenario.
