Legendary League of Legends pro Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok has made a surprise cameo in a music video.
The T1 midlaner shows up at the end of the new music video for Stray Kids’ song ‘CEREMONY.’
After Stray Kids’ members play various sports, Faker appears at his PC and hits his iconic shh pose.
The music video has over 7 million views on YouTube at the time of writing, but that number is rapidly growing.
Stray Kids are one of the most popular boy bands in K-pop, with over 10 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
They have eight members: Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and I.N.
This isn’t the first time that members of Stray Kids and Faker have crossed paths.
Rapper and singer Felix did a photoshoot with Faker earlier this year for UNICEF.
And in addition to that, the band gave a shout-out to Faker in the lyrics of their song ‘Hall of Fame.’
There was a lot of excitement over Faker’s CEREMONY cameo in the YouTube comments, but that’s not surprising.
Faker is a global superstar and wildly popular in his home nation of South Korea.
He is considered the greatest League of Legends player of all time, the Lionel Messi or Lebron James of esports.
Nobody comes close to his remarkable tally of five LoL World Championships.
Considering T1 won the last two Worlds, LoL betting sites will surely fancy T1 to be crowned world champions again later this year.
This year’s World Championship is only a couple of months away.
With the timing of this collaboration, many are speculating that Stray Kids may be the performers of this year’s Worlds anthem.
However, the tournament being held in China makes that slightly less likely.
Esports and K-pop crossover
The esports and K-pop industries have become strangely interlinked; there is a huge crossover between the two.
Nerds love both.
Fnatic’s British Valorant pro Jake ‘Boaster’ Howlett has a massive following due to his K-pop dance walkouts.
A shining example of that is the virtual K-pop band in LoL K/DA, which was a massive success.
K/DA’s debut song ‘POP/STARS’ has almost reached the 4 billion listens milestone on Spotify.
The band are so popular in fact that Netflix’s massive shit KPop Demon Hunters movie drew immediate K/DA comparisons.
Demon Hunters showed that Riot Games really missed out by not following Arcane with a K/DA-based show.
After the movie’s popularity, expect a lot more esports and K-pop collaborations in the future.

In my seven years of esports writing, I’ve introuduced esports coverage to newspapers, interviewed some of the biggest names in the industry, and driven viewers mad with the puns in my YouTube scripts. I’m most proud of the latter.
