Surviving Mars is being relaunched after nearly three years without updates. Publisher Paradox Interactive and developer Haemimont Games announced that the new version will feature upgraded graphics, a redesigned UI, and additional content not included in the original release.
Surviving Mars: Relaunched will include all previously released DLC and content packs, and will be available for the first time on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. Existing owners will receive a significant launch discount, though the relaunch will not be offered for free.
It will cost $39.99/£34.99/€39.99, but the discount will be offered at $19.99/£17.50/€19.99 on the same platform of the original purchase.
Features of Surviving Mars: Relaunched will include:
- The Award-Winning Martian Colonization Game, Remastered: Players must overcome the challenges of building a habitable, life-sustaining colony in a hostile environment, bringing in human colonists, and keeping them alive long enough to become self-sustaining. Relaunched brings a reworked UI to players for easier access to their toolset and upgraded graphics fidelity and lighting for modern systems.
- The Full Expansion Catalog: Compete with other colonies with Space Race, introduce Animal Life with Project Laika, and terraform the martian desert with Green Planet – along with all major and minor expansions, cosmetics, and radio stations released for the original game.
- New Gameplay Feature: The “Martian Assembly” update adds colony factions to the game, adding players’ greatest challenge yet to the unforgiving environment of Mars: politics. Colonists will adopt agendas and personal demands, allowing players to shape the society of their colonies’ future. Establish laws and policies, and even push for full independence from Earth!
- Expansive Mod Support: Craft your own buildings, parks, or even a sci-fi mystery to share through the game’s extensive and convenient modding tools. Modding is integrated into the game across all platforms, making it easy to browse, install, share, and manage mods without ever leaving your colony.
Paradox Interactive revealed back in April that it spent €10.3M (£8.8M) to acquire the Sofia-based developer Haemimont Games. This will be the first project between the parties since this acquisition.
A release date hasn’t been set for Surviving Mars: Relaunched, but we will keep you posted.
