There are indications that you can only complete the campaign in CoD: Black Ops 7 if you play online at times.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is in the starting blocks and aims to sweeten the end of 2025 with a mix of futurism and zombies. The established news platform Insider Gaming now claims to have received information from an anonymous source that could spoil the fun for many single-player fans.
Allegedly, you have to take part in a huge multiplayer battle in the final campaign mission in order to finish the story.
No multiplayer, no Activision?
Multiplayer galore: As has already been officially announced, this time you can optionally play the campaign in co-op with up to three other people. The classic online multiplayer and the popular zombie mode are of course also back. But according to Insider Gaming’s report, Activision isn’t satisfied with just that multiplayer experience.
The story campaign is said to comprise twelve missions, with the last one being a 32-player multiplayer battle. The finale will take place on the Avalon map, which has been rumored to be a possible Battle Royale location and will apparently also be part of the story.
What will the mission look like? The anonymous source describes the battle as hardcore
and quite similar to popular extraction shooters. If that’s true, you’ll have to complete certain tasks as a team and leave the map in time. If you die, you lose your progress.
Keep in mind, however, that this information has not yet been officially confirmed. It is also possible that the battle can be played exclusively with bots and that you won’t actually have to compete against other players.
Our newsroom lead and shooter expert Phil is pretty skeptical about Black Ops 7 and doesn’t have high hopes for the new installment, mainly due to a certain gameplay decision.
