Passion UA has announced it has parted ways with its Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) roster.

The Ukrainian esports organisation recently competed in the closed qualifiers for BLAST Bounty Season 2, where it was eliminated in the round of 32.

Volodymyr ‘Woro2k‘ Veletniuk and Oleksii ‘Topa‘ Topchiienko have been released from the organisation, while Nikita ‘jackasmo‘ Skyba, Sergiy ‘DemQQ‘ Demchenko, and Vladyslav ‘Kvem‘ Korol have been placed on the substitute bench.

“This is not the end of Passion UA’s story, it’s the beginning of a new chapter,” the organisation tweeted, suggesting it will not be departing from Counter-Strike esports.

The disbanding of the roster brings an end to an eight-month stint representing Passion UA. The latest group of players joined between January and April after Fnatic signed Rodio ‘fear‘ Smyk and Dmytro ‘jambo‘ Semera.

Prior to disbanding, Passion UA reached 36th in the August Valve Regional Standings (VRS), placing the team four places away from a place in the top 32.

In June, the team also found success in offline tournaments, winning Glitched Masters 2025 with a victory against Fnatic in the Grand Final.

However, it struggled to carry its LAN performance to the online stages, resulting in it failing to qualify for offline tournaments.

After the elimination in the first BLAST Bounty round, Passion UA went on to lose its Thunderpick World Championship 2025 Europe Series #2 match to 500 and its ESL Challenger League Season 50 match, seemingly sparking the change.

The top 32 places in the standings have become hotly contested, as they are the sole determining factor in deciding which teams qualify for November’s StarLadder Budapest Major.

What’s Next for Passion UA?

With the organisation looking to rebuild the team for the remainder of 2025, it will be interesting to see if Passion UA can rediscover the form that helped it climb towards the top 32 and achieve LAN victories earlier this year.
