Jurassic Park: Survival reemerges after long marketing

Jurassic Park & World fans have been wondering for over a year about the status of the first-person action-adventure game Jurassic Park: Survival. Small social media updates aside, we’d received zero major news since its announcement in late 2023. Now, developer (and publisher) Saber Interactive has reemerged with a behind-the-scenes look at the vision behind the game.

The video, shared on YouTube, it’s surprisingly lengthy, giving us a close look at what the veteran teams at Universal and Saber are trying to capture with this first-person game that seems to be following in the big footsteps of modern classics like Alien: Isolation. Watch it below:

Of course, we’re not expecting Jurassic Park: Survival to be as intense as a survival horror game based on the Alien universe, but it seems this jaunt through Isla Nublar will be hair-raising regardless. In fact, you can see some pretty terrifying early footage of a death animation as you’re hunted down by the massive Tyrannosaurus rex.

The main focus, however, is on the attention to detail and how Saber is recreating the biggest locations seen in the original movie as well as crafting new ones from scratch. As for the dinosaurs, we’ll be meeting all sorts of classics, from small carnivores to giant sauropods to the mighty Rexie. In any case, it looks like the protagonist, Maya Joshi, is ill-equipped to combat the prehistoric animals, so definitely expect lots of running and hiding as you try to survive and leave the island in the wake of the events of the movie.

Big fans of Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2, Saber’s biggest game ever, might have also noticed the big presence of Oliver Hollis-Leick, creative director on that game, who’s now in the same role at the Jurassic Park team. We talked to him last year about Space Marine 2 and he already teased how he and Saber were approaching this IP. Considering how that game turned out, it’s safe to say we’re incredibly excited for this one too.

Jurassic Park: Survival doesn’t have a release window yet, but we’re not expecting it to arrive before well into 2026 at this stage. It’s confirmed to launch on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
