The Rocket League 2025 World Championship will see the best teams from across the globe compete in France for a lion’s share of its $1.2m (~£884,500) prize pool.
20 teams from MENA, Europe, North America, South America, Oceania, APAC, and the Last Chance Qualifier will play at the LDLC Arena in Lyon-Décines from September 10th to 14th, 2025.
Biggest Headlines Ahead of the World Championship
The majority of teams in this tournament have been invited based on the 2025 regional rankings. These include Karmine Corp (Europe), NRG (NA), Wildcard (Oceania), Furia (SA), Team Falcons (MENA), and Virtus.pro (APAC).
The upcoming tournament will see some former world champions compete at the event. For example, 2023 world champions, Team Vitality, have qualified after ranking second in Europe. NRG, an organisation that won the Rocket League Championship Series Season 8 Finals in 2019 has also successfully qualified by placing first in NA.
A surprise development is that Team BDS, last year’s winners, will not be participating in the 2025 World Championship after the team ranked 11th overall in Europe. The majority of players who won last year’s tournament signed with other organisations such as Team Vitality and Karmine Corp, leaving Team BDS to re-enter the next season with a new roster under its helm.
Two of the favourites at this year’s World Championship will undoubtedly be Team Falcons and Karmine Corp. Alongside topping the rankings in MENA and Europe, respectively, the sides are 2025’s Major winners with Falcons taking home the trophy in Raleigh, whilst Karmine Corp won in Birmingham.
