BLAST has entered a multi-year partnership with the Singapore Tourism Board to host esports events in the country
As a result of the deal, the tournament organiser will bring four events to arenas in Singapore after November’s BLAST Slam IV Dota 2 tournament.
The partnership marks BLAST’s continued expansion across the Asian esports market after hosting the BLAST Premier 2024 World Final in Singapore. The Counter-Strike event sold out the Resorts World Convention Centre, which saw teams compete for a share of a $1m (~£737,015) prize pool.
Following BLAST Slam IV, the tournament organiser will host four more esports events in Singapore. It has yet to reveal which titles will be featured.
“BLAST has major global ambitions as a leader in esports and competitive entertainment and we are delighted to expand our partnership with Singapore,” said Leo Matlock, Chief Business Officer at BLAST.
“We are incredibly excited to be making a long-term commitment to the region through this new partnership with the Singapore Tourism Board.”
According to a release, the partnership is expected to cement Singapore as a hub for esports in Southeast Asia, along with generating ‘tens of millions in economic impact’ for the country through the creation of jobs and visitor spending.
Singapore’s esports industry remains a hotbed for growth. In April, the country’s Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) league launched a talent search programme to bolster the local ecosystem with the next generation of talent.
BLAST In 2025
Throughout the year, BLAST has continued to consolidate its position as one of the leading tournament organisers in the world. Over the last eight months, it has expanded its operations into India after securing a deal with Reliance.
Elsewhere, it has also expanded into the United States, opening new offices in New York City as it looks to capitalise on opportunities within the North American market.
Alongside its expansion, BLAST has partnered with initiatives from other countries to bring its events to new countries. In June, it unveiled a three-year deal with GamingMalta to host CS2 and Dota 2 events on the island.
