It appears Sintopia won’t be the only strategy game with a godly twist coming out in September, as god simulator Fata Deum has just locked a September 15 launch into Steam Early Access.
We’ve been keeping tabs on this one for a while, as it promises to land closer to Black & White than other efforts inside the same sphere. We’re sure this will make many ears perk up, and there are many reasons to be optimistic. For starters, it has a strong emphasis on acts of kindness and cruelty that can reshape not just your powers and the behavior of your people, but also the very “land beneath their feet.”
As per the latest press release: “The game is separated into two main cycles of day and night. When the sun is up, perform wonders, shape civilization, and compete with rival gods for influence. In the darkness of night, tweak your strategy in peace, whisper into their dreams, and plan your next move.”
There’s also mention of supporting both micromanagement-heavy and more laid-back play styles across many unique maps. On top of everything, four different deities will contest your strong rule over humans: Violence, Pleasure, Deceit, and Fertility.
Developer 42 Bits Entertainment and publisher Aerosoft have shared a quick list of what to expect at launch:

We’ve yet to learn about Fata Deum’s full early access plans, but you can wishlist it right now on Steam if you’re feeling the need for a new god sim that’s more traditional in its style and rhythm.
