After a divisive Steam demo and some promising updates from the developers at Alkimia Interactive in recent months, THQ Nordic has finally given Gothic 1 Remake a release window of early 2026. Plus, the three original Gothic games are coming to consoles.

The announcement came via today’s THQ Nordic Digital Showcase 2025, which gave players fresh new looks at games that have been in the works for a while alongside reveals which few were anticipating. In the case of Gothic 1 Remake, buzz around it has been up and down, but diehard fans of the iconic RPG series are still hoping for the best. In this new trailer, more polish can be appreciated, but a new demo could add to the optimism found in some circles.

On top of this update on Gothic 1 Remake, THQ Nordic also surprised fans with the announcement of the original Gothic trilogy (now dubbed Classic) hitting PlayStation and Xbox consoles next year too. Check out the reveal trailer below:
