THQ Nordic’s next big fantasy game, Fatekeeper, isn’t a follow-up to Kingdoms of Amalur as rumors suggested, but it’s looking exciting all the same. Enter a new a first-person action-RPG with brutal melee combat and flashy spellcasting.
You can watch the reveal trailer, fully in-game and featuring gory gameplay, below:
While generous, this first look at the game doesn’t reveal a whole lot about the plot or the mythology behind this world. Instead, it’s a highly effective mood setter and showcase of what we can expect from the combat, which is looking bloody and not overly complex despite the inclusion of a magic system. PC veterans might think of Dark Messiah of Might & Magic, and we truly hope it lands anywhere near that classic.
Here’s what the press release shared by THQ Nordic had to add:
“Fatekeeper is a first-person action RPG that blends intense melee combat with precise spellcasting in a richly handcrafted world. Venture through ancient battlegrounds, forgotten ruins, and mystical forests as you uncover relics, shape your path through meaningful choices, and face enemies that demand both skill and strategy. Customize your build with a deep progression system, master unique weapons and armor, and forge your fate through a world where every encounter and every choice matters.”
Fatekeeper is being developed by Paraglacial and doesn’t have a release window yet. So far, it’s only confirmed to launch on PC.
