Los Ratones may outrageously skip the EMEA Masters Summer Split because of a clash with the LoL World Championships.
Riot Games announced that the EMEA Masters Summer Split 2025 final will take place on November 2nd.
The issue being, this means it will happen on the same day as the second semi-final at this year’s Worlds.
The final will be the first time EMEA Masters is hosted in Paris, with the November date chosen because of Paris Games Week.
The schedule clash is especially problematic for Los Ratones owner and popular Twitch streamer Marc ‘Caedrel’ Lamont.
As LoL’s most popular co-streamer, Worlds is a crucial time for Caedrel. Last year, he had over 340k viewers for FlyQuest vs Gen.G.
And after winning consecutive EMEA Masters, Los Ratones will be favourites on LoL betting sites to reach the Paris final.
The Brit vented his frustrations with this clash on his stream:
“The stupidest thing about all this is, it’s on November 2nd. That’s during like Worlds finals weekend…. how does that make any sense?
“EMEA Masters finals are normally in September. Our EMEA Masters final is November 2nd, our NLC finals our August 31st. Two months later?
“EMEA Masters final could be the same time as T1 vs Gen.G Worlds semis, what? Are we ok?
“If we win NLC, we have to wait for two months. What are we going to do for two months? Play Peak?”
“I just don’t understand why you’d have an ERL final and then two months later, you have the tournament.
“Like, imagine Spring Split finishes for Gen.G and they have to wait two months for MSI.”
Riot has since stated that: “There will be no overlap with Worlds. The EMEA Masters Final will take place after the matches.
“After carefully considering the scheduling constraints, this was the best compromise to offer a meaningful experience to the fans in order to have a day that celebrates League of Legends.”
However, this doesn’t really solve the scheduling issues. Especially if Caedrel wants to co-stream Worlds live from China.
A fan in his chat told Caedrel just to skip EMEA Masters and go to Korea, and the streamer didn’t write it off.
In fact, after a fan suggested they could go to Korea at the same time that Worlds teams will go to bootcamp, Caedrel agreed:
“That’s true, it would be more worth it. Ok, we’ll have to think about it.”
Playing solo-queue against the best players in the world and scrimming elite teams would make great Los Ratones content.
But one of LoL’s most popular teams skipping EMEA Masters would be disastrous for Riot and EMEA.
