Vi announced for 2XKO as Riot’s launches new beta test

Riot Games has revealed that fan-favorite champ Vi will be the next addition to the growing roster of 2XKO.

The latest reveal was announced through 2XKO’s official social media channels on July 22, 2025. Riot is also opening signups for another round of beta testing, this time featuring the popular character from Arcana. The reveals come as 2XKO approaches its 2025 release goal, though Riot could always push the game back to 2026. Here’s what we know about Vi’s gameplay and how to sign up to test her yourself.

What kind of character is Vi in 2XKO?

Based on her reveal trailer, Vi appears to be a close-range bully with unique movement options.

Early in the trailer, Vi performs a sudden backdash while approaching Illaoi, baiting an attack only to whiff punish it. We then see a unique crossover dash that puts her behind her opponent. Riot then showcases an advancing super that appears to be invincible. Vi uses it to crush through Ekko’s own super move from across the screen. The trailer ends with a series of combos that show off her mobility.

Vi in 2XKO could take inspiration from other mobile bullies like Slayer from Guilty Gear or Dudley from Street Fighter. Her multi-hit specials and long-range super could also draw from Marvel vs. Capcom’s Wolverine. Designer Seth Killian and producer Tom Cannon both have experience with those franchises. All of it combines to make a rushdown bruiser that matches with Vi’s design in League of Legends.

How to sign up for the next 2XKO beta test

Hopeful 2XKO players can sign up for the September 2025 beta test through the game’s official website.

Signups are available now on July 22 with no stated end date. The preview is also limited to players on PC. Riot lists this test as a closed beta, so not everyone will be able to join the test.

If players miss the signup, they can still join the beta with a friend referral. Riot has yet to reveal details, but it will likely involve the Riot client. To ensure the best chance of getting in, be sure to encourage friends to sign up to potentially invite the rest of your group.
