Vi is an assassin and fighter champion from League of Legends who, much like her sister Jinx, became more popular following the release of the animated series Arcane: League of Legends on Netflix in 2021. 

In the game, she is moderately successful, with a 4.5% pick rate in rankings of Emerald and above and a 47.7% win rate. She has an average rating in this regard, though there is no doubt that her popularity soared following the success of the series.

Officer Vi is another early skin for the champion, and it’s a little dated in terms of design. However, it’s undoubtedly a fun skin that matches Vi’s personality well while also tying in with the lore of her becoming a Piltover Enforcer. 

Vi’s gauntlets are a standout design choice with this skin, featuring a police emblem, a silver and blue colour palette, and red flashing lights. There are also some police siren sound effects when Vi uses her ultimate and a recall animation that shows her wielding a baton. While not the best, Officer is a well-priced skin that is one of the more fun options for Vi. 

Heartbreaker is an impressive skin in terms of new effects and animations that fit in with the other skins in the Heartbreaker collection. There are plenty of love hearts, rose petals, and harp music with this skin. However, Heartbreaker doesn’t make it higher on this list as it simply does not fit in as well with Vi’s personality as some of her other outfits. 

Vi is much more than a hot-headed renegade type, as demonstrated by her multifaceted portrayal in Arcane. However, she is also far from the lovey-dovey sort. She has a romantic side, as is evident in her relationship with Caitlyn, but it’s not the pink hearts and rose petals kind of love. The effects are great with Heartbreaker, but Vi’s character does not suit the style as well as some of the other LoL champions. 

While Heartbreaker has a theme that does not suit Vi well, PsyOps fits Vi’s abrasive and punch-drunk nature fantastically. The PsyOps LoL skin line redesigns champions as futuristic psychic members of a black ops military team, and Vi is the hand-to-hand specialist of the group. Her look is well-designed for this theme, featuring militaristic elements with a cyberpunk vibe. 

The sound effects and animations are awesome with the PsyOps skin, offering something new and refreshing that works well with the overall PsyOps themes. For 1,350 RP, PsyOps is definitely worth a look. 

Arcane Brawler is a divisive skin for Vi, as it is her first Legendary skin, but there isn’t a lot to it. Some consider it a particularly pretty standard style skin at a Legendary price, and it’s easy to see why. This skin should have much more detail, especially considering the rarity and cost. However, it only gets the bare minimum in terms of new animations. 

All that being said, it’s impossible to place this skin lower on this list, as it perfectly replicates Vi’s look from Arcane season 2 and has some great animations and sound effects. One of the emotes that comes with this skin is almost worth the price of admission alone, as it features Vi sobbing and eating cupcakes while crying that everything reminds her of Caitlyn. Some might consider this a tonal shift from the actual show, but it’s a highlight nonetheless. 

Demon Vi is a highly creative skin for the champion that reimagines her as a demon, complete with red skin, horns, and wings that appear during her recall and attack animations. She also has a deeper, demonic-sounding voice, which is a nice touch. 

While Demon might not be as intricate as some Epic Vi skins, it goes all out on the demonic themes and is surprisingly fitting for Vi. It’s well worth the price of admission at 1,350 RP, and surpasses some of the new Vi skins. 

The Heartthrobs and Heartache LoL skins–also known as the <3 series– makes the champions younger and places them in a high school setting where they are part of the Heartache or the Heartthrob cliques. On paper, this sounds like a theme that would be unfitting for Vi, but surprisingly, it works amazingly well with her character. 

Vi is a Heartache crew member. The Heartache group are the class skipping skater types, opposing the preppy and poised Heartthrob crew. This skin not only looks awesome, giving Vi a skater look and hand-drawn hearts on her gauntlets, but it also references the lore of Vi and Caitlyn’s romance. 

Caitlyn is a Heartthrob in this universe, making her romance with Vi somewhat scandalous due to their opposing crews. Both Vi and Caitlyn have recall animations that connect with these skins, as Vi puts a love note in a pink locker while Caitlyn opens the locker and lovingly receives it. Well-designed and with fantastic animations, effects, and lore references, Heartache Vi is a must-have skin for Vi players.

She also has a sound effect added to her voice to make it sound robotic. PROJECT is a very well-made skin that fits with Vi’s lore and personality, making it her absolute best.
