EA Sports has unveiled a new Diogo Jota themed Tifo pack that will be made available to all FC 25 users in order to honour the former Liverpool and Portugal footballer.

Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva tragically passed away in a car crash earlier this month, but the pair continue to be immortalised by both the esports and football community.

Jota himself held a huge presence in the esports world as an avid FC 25 fan and owner of his own esports team, Luna Esports.

EA Sports’ FC 25 pays tribute to Diogo Jota with Tifo pack

Jota was a renowned FC 25 player and even when he was playing at the top of his game for Liverpool in the Premier League, the Portuguese superstar was often spotted playing FC’s competitive Champions mode.

EA Sports already made the decision to keep Jota’s card in Ultimate Team for the remainder of the game’s existence, with his price fixed in the transfer market.

However Jota’s card is no longer available in Ultimate Team packs out of a sign of respect from EA.

The game developers announced another in-game tribute for Jota this week with a new Tifo pack launched to mark the player’ passing.

A message from EA Sports that came with the Tifos said: “To honour and celebrate the life of one of our most passionate FC players, three new Diogo Jota Tifos have been added to your UT club.”

The ‘One of us’ Tifo collection represents Jota’s incredible legacy left behind in football, with all three of his different club shirts from Porto, Wolves and Liverpool all available for players to put in their Ultimate Team stadiums.

Diogo Jota’s presence in the esports community

There is no doubt that Jota’s passing leaves a huge hole in not only the football community, but also in esports, where he built an impressive profile.

Jota initially created his own esports team called ‘Diogo Jota Esports’ which merged with Galaxy Racer shortly after to become Luna Esports.

The team will continue to compete in EA FC as well as Rocket League and Dota 2 competitions in Jota’s memory.

Not only did Jota have his own team, but the Portugal international also took an interest in various esports, appearing at the World Cup as a special guest in 2024.
