WEMADE has announced that ROM: Golden Age, a Web3 MMORPG developed by RedLab Games, has now surpassed 1m pre-registrations on its blockchain gaming platform, WEMIX PLAY.
Following the registration milestone, all pre-registered users are also eligible to receive a ‘Superior Monster Plate’, a special in-game item.
Scheduled for release this August on WEMADE PLAY, ROM: Golden Age is expanding its reach to 170 countries, bringing the franchise’s gameplay to a worldwide audience.
Web3 Features Drive Unprecedented Early Interest
The pre-registration numbers didn’t happen by accident. Wemix’s decision to adopt Web3 strategies sparked this surge of interest, and the Buddy Boost Lottery Event stands at the centre of it all.
In its basic form, the lottery event allows gamers to invite friends and family to pre-register for the game, and in doing so, both will be awarded golden tickets. This qualifies them to play for a chance to win 200,000 PLAY, 3,000 CROM tokens or NFTs as prize winnings.
The PLAY and CROM tokens can be used for purchases or exchanged for stablecoins.
Beyond the referral programme, ROM: Golden Age introduces several blockchain-powered systems that expand on the original game’s framework.
Early adopters gain access to Crystal tokens at pre-launch discounts, while those who want to earn Crystal as a passive reward must stake their CROM tokens.
The game will also feature a swap pool enabling conversions between USDC.e stablecoins and CROM tokens, giving players more flexibility in managing their in-game assets.
As the August launch approaches, ROM: Golden Age represents an important test case for bringing established gaming IP into the blockchain space.
