Free-to-play FPS title Delta Force has revealed details on the Delta Force Invitational (DFI), marking the title’s entrance into esports.

The inaugural Delta Force Invitational (DFI) will take place in China this September. It is set to feature teams from eight regions and a $500,000 (~£373,215) prize pool split across qualifiers and the main event.

Described as ‘the ultimate esports tournament,’ the DFI has registration for the open qualifiers, which will be open until July 27th, 2025. The title’s social media account claims over 1,000 teams from the eight regions are set to compete in the tournament.

Players from Europe, North America, Japan, and Korea are eligible to take part in the qualifiers, which will feature a $10,000 (~£7,467) prize pool. The qualifiers take place from August 2nd to 16th, with 12 teams from each region earning qualification to the Grand Finals.

Whilst the Delta Force Invitational Grand Finals will take place in September, an exact date and location have yet to be revealed. In addition, the event organiser hasn’t confirmed which teams will receive direct invitations.

Following the reveal of the DFI, TiMi Studio Group and Team Jade unveiled the title’s esports roadmap for the second half of 2025. On July 26th, an ‘Elite Invitational’ is set to take place while Season 3 of the Global League is scheduled for October.

Is Delta Force Esports Ready?

With TiMi Studio Group and Team Jade continuing to expand its esports efforts, Delta Force is cementing its place as the latest FPS title to develop an esports ecosystem.

In conjunction with the title’s console release on August 19th, the developer and publisher are offering players numerous opportunities to compete on the international stage through leagues and invitational tournaments.

As the likes of Counter-Strike 2, Rainbow Six Siege, and Call of Duty continue to host prominent esports circuits, it will be interesting to see if Delta Force can establish its renewed esports initiatives in a hotly competitive market.
