The announcement came from Anne herself through a post on X, stating that the Esports World Cup (EWC) will be the last “hurrah with the bees”.

Banschbach’s Esports Journey

Banschbach will leave Team Vitality after four years, having started initially as a Head of Esports Operations before being promoted two and a half years ago. Although she announced her intention to join BLAST, she has not yet revealed her role within the tournament organiser.

Prior to joining Team Vitality, she previously worked as an Executive Assistant at G2 Esports and Chief of Staff for e-commerce intelligence platform Peekd.

“It has been an incredible honour, rollercoaster ride and crucial part of my personal development. There are simply no words to convey it all,” said Anne Banschbach in the X post.

“My next chapter will be an incredibly exciting journey where I stay in the esports world, but will focus on the other side of things by joining BLAST.”

Founded in 2013, Team Vitality is among the biggest esports organisations in Europe and is set to compete in the Esports World Cup as one of the front runners for the EWC Club Championship. The French organisation was among the partner teams for the Esports World Cup Foundation Club Support Program in 2024 and was re-confirmed for this year’s edition.

The organisation has grown to establish several esports teams across multiple games including Rennsport, Free Fire, Chess, Honor of Kings, EA FC 25, Rocket League, and Counter-Strike 2. Having won the recent Austin Major, Team Vitality is currently regarded as one of the best CS2 teams in the world.

With a total of 15 partners, Vitality counts on the support of partners such as supermarket chain ALDI, KIA, hummel, Trade.it, and ASUS ROG, among others.
