UK-based Omeda Studios’ third-person MOBA, Predecessor, is heading into the Predecessor Championship Circuit (PCC) Finals this weekend.
The top teams in Europe and North America will compete for the top place in their region this weekend, with a prize pool of $20,000 (~£14,800) on the line between the two regions.
Omeda Studios is also set to launch Predecessor’s 1.7 patch, introducing a new original Hero to the game.
EU Championship Circuit Finals
The Predecessor Championship Circuit was first announced earlier this year.
This weekend will see the culmination of the tournament in North America and Europe.
In Europe, only four teams remain for the chance to take the top prize of $6,000 (~£4,450).
The first match will see Sin go up against Black Lotus in round six of the losers’ bracket.
The winner of that match will face Vennyvens Mennymens, who will look to recover after their loss to Team Immune.
Thanks to their efforts to win round five of the winners’ bracket, Team Immune have secured their place in the Grand Finals.
They’ll face the winner of the final losers’ bracket match, which could see a rematch with Vennyvens Mennymens.
The Grand Final of the EU PCC will take place on Sunday, July 13th at 1 pm BST, on the official Predecessor Twitch channel.
NA Championship Circuit Finals
Meanwhile, the North American PCC is set to see its Grand Finals take place this Saturday.
There are also four teams in contention for the title and top prize.
Mythic and Primal will be the first to face each other.
While Mach 10 awaits to face the winner of that match.
Flowstate have already secured their spot in the Grand Final, however it wasn’t without difficulty.
The winner of the final losers’ bracket will face them in the Grand Final.
The Grand Final of the NA PCC will take place on Saturday, July 12th at 6 pm BST, on the official Predecessor Twitch channel.
Esports betting sites will have Flowstate as the favourite to win the tournament.
What is Predecessor?
Predecessor is a free-to-play multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) developed by London-based Omeda Studios.
The game was built from the assets of Epic Games’ failed title Paragon, which was discontinued in 2018.
Teams of five battle it out in a third-person MOBA with a three-lane map, similar to Hi-Rez Studios’ Smite 2.
UK-based Omeda Studios was heavily inspired by many MOBAs that are already on the market.
However, Predecessor shines in its use of 3D space, making traversal and elevation a key aspect of gameplay.
Last year, Predecessor also launched its new game mode Brawl, where players would fight on a single-lane map to take down enemy players and escort allied minions into the enemy portal.
