Esports World Cup Rennsport kicks off in Riyadh, but which traditional motorsport organisations have teams competing?

Alongside well-known esports-specific organisations Virtus.pro, MOUZ, Team Vitality, and Saudi’s own Team Falcons, traditional motorsport organisations continue to push for esports sim-racing victory.

Esports World Cup Rennsport event welcomes back reigning champions BMW

Rennsport is one of the first events packed into the busy Esports World Cup 2025 schedule, and will host several exciting organisations crossing over from the motorsports industry.

The 2024 Esports World Cup Rennsport competition saw BMW M Team Redline Red Bull Sim Racing take the title. However, BMW is supporting a total of three teams in the 2025 Esports World Cup.

Team Redline Racing Bulls, as officially named by BMW, is the defending champion.

Slovakian team member Kevin Siggy was the 2024 drivers’ championship winner at the Esports World Cup. Luke Bennett and Sebastian Job join him from the UK, and Jeffrey Rietveld joins from the Netherlands.

BMW also supports team BS+COMPETITION. Germany’s Gregor Schill, Caique Oliveira from Brazil, Nikodem Wisniewski from Poland and Ferris Stanley from Indonesia qualified via the Rennsport Esports ecosystem.

Although sporting the branding of the esports team MOUZ, BMW is backing the esports brand’s participation.

German competitors Dennis Schöniger, Moritz Löhner, and Maximilian Benecke are joined by Yuri Kasdorp from the Netherlands to catapult the esports organisation to sim-racing victory.

Fighting for glory – Porsche, Mercedes, and Williams Racing join the race

Traditional motorsport teams have consistently invested in participating in sim-racing, and the Esports World Cup Rennsport competition is no exception.

Porsche Coanda Esports is the official Porsche factory esports team. British player Charlie Collins joins three Australians, Dayne Warren, Jordan Caruso, and Joshua Rogers, to compete for a Porsche victory.

Team Falcons will be using the same car as Porsche Coanda, the Porsche 911 GT3 R. They compete with a Polish-Finnish roster, including Przemyslaw Lemanek, Jakub Maciejewski, Tuomas Tahtela, Kamil Pawlowski, and Matti Sipila.

Co-branded Mercedes and MSI sim-racing team, Mercedes-AMG MSI, will also compete in Riyadh: their precision, performance, and innovation-centred collaboration launched in April.

British competitors Jamie Fluke and Jon Robertson are joined by Swiss player Jimmy Antunes and Yohann Harth from France to form the team.

Williams Racing have supported sim-racing esports for many years. Both Williams Racing and Mercedes-AMG MSI will compete with the Mercedes GT3 2020.

Their Atlassian Williams Sim Racing team will compete, featuring German player Tobias Pfeffer, Polish Dominik Blajer, Slovakian Daniel Pasztor, and Greek Vasilios Beletsiotis in their multinational European team.

Traditional esports brands in Rennsport competition

MOUZ, traditionally associated with esports scenes such as Counter-Strike, is supported by BMW in the Rennsport series. However, two other traditional esports brands are joining MOUZ in Riyadh.

Virtus.pro is fielding a team comprised of Kevin Ellis Jr. from the UK, Daire McCormack from Ireland, Vojtech Fiala from the Czech Republic, and Mikhail Statsnko from Russia.

Meanwhile, Team Vitality are competing with Thibault Cazaubon from France, Marcell Csincsik from Hungary, Erhan Jojowski from North Macedonia, and Jiri Toman from the Czech Republic.

Both Virtus.pro and Team Vitality will be competing with the Aston Martin Vantage GT3.
