EA Sports has put a proposal to the CBF to bring Brazil’s national teams back for EA FC 26.
And the football game publishers are also negotiating directly with domestic clubs from Brazil’s top division, Serie A.
This is according to reports from Estadão, a popular daily newspaper published in São Paulo.
The reported proposal would bring both Brazil’s men’s and women’s national teams to the next video game.
Securing the license would allow EA to use Brazil’s team once again with authentic kits, badges, and players.
In FC 25, Brazil are not listed as one of the 29 men’s international teams or 14 women’s international teams.
Brazil would be a big get for EA FC 26, considering the World Cup is set to take place next Summer.
Especially considering the team’s star-studded line-up with Vinicius Junior, Alisson, and Raphinha, with Carlo Ancelotti as their new manager.
Brazil has been missing from the FIFA/FC franchise for some time now.
The team hasn’t been available in Kick Off mode since FIFA 21. The team briefly appeared in FIFA 23 at launch before quietly being removed.
Will Brazilian clubs be in EA FC 26?
The CBF reportedly signed an agreement with eFootball 2025 publishers Konami involving the Brazil national team back in 2016.
This deal then evolved to include sponsorship of the Brazilian League in 2020.
However, this deal is allegedly coming to a close, and EA is ready to swoop.
There have already been reports of one popular league returning for EA FC 26 in Mexico’s Liga MX.
And the Brazilian Serie A could be an even bigger win, considering some of the talent currently in the league.
The most obvious example is Brazil’s all-time top scorer, Neymar.
The former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain winger has been out of FC 25 since February after re-joining Santos.
Other stars in the league include Memphis Depay, former Crystal Palace trickster Yannick Bolasie, and Hulk, who is still going strong at 38 years old.
Two organisations have been blocking EA from having automatic rights to players, Libra and LFU.
Both organisations are looking to join forces to run Serie A and Serie B together come 2027, which could make EA’s life easier in the future.
Under Brazilian law, EA has to negotiate individually with clubs and players to license their rights.
Rumours claim that EA FC 26 will have 12 Brazilian clubs, but Estadão reports that just two are advanced in negotiations.
