A look at the comments, however, reveals that many players have a different wish. UserKratagonwrites that he would much rather have the opposite, namelyall Xbox games in his Steam library Kratagon receives a lot of encouragement for his idea in the form of replies and over seven thousand upvotes
Some players make it clear that they would prefer to go even further. For exampleLow-Knowledge7896 writes that he would like to seea proper integration of Game Pass games on Steam, not just a launcher. In his opinion, Xbox games should also be able to be managed and downloaded via Steam, not just sit in the library as a link to the Xbox app.
MadeByTangotakes the dream even further: “A game license should simply be valid everywhere. Anyone who buys a game should be able to play it on any platform, whether Steam, Xbox App or PlayStation.
Given the limited functionality of the Xbox App, the desire for integration on Steam is hardly surprising. However, such ideas are likely to remain pipe dreams for the time being. After all, with its update for the Xbox app, Microsoft wants to attract Steam players to its own platform and the new handheld, not make them irrelevant.
