Jurassic World Evolution 3 no longer using generative AI

After a strong debut at this year’s Summer Game Fest stream, Jurassic World Evolution 3 caused division among fans and potential newcomers with the use of generative AI for scientist portraits. Now, developer Frontier has confirmed it’s chosen to drop it.

The long-awaited park management sim, which is presenting new social systems and creative tools as the big new features, will now launch on October 21 free of generative AI (first confirmed via Steam’s forced disclosure) after online complaints that quickly brought down the initial excitement for the threequel. The developer has now publicly confirmed the decision to remove AI-generated content via the official Steam forums, but we directly asked Frontier for clarification on this matter earlier this week and got an answer this morning:

“We have removed the use of generative AI for scientists portraits in Jurassic World Evolution 3 following some initial feedback. The team are continuing their diligent work on the game and are very much looking forward to launching on 21 October.”

It remains to be seen how the development team will replace the affected images in the game following this decision, but we (and the community) celebrate the decision to pivot away from generative AI in a game that’s looking lovingly crafted otherwise. We’ll be keeping tabs on its development and any new previews and content reveals (we’re personally hoping for Jurassic World: Rebirth tie-ins) as the team approaches the finish line.

Jurassic World Evolution 3 launches on October 21, 2025, for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
