Wood Cabin Games has just unveiled Letters of War, a 2D war drama adventure inspired by modern classic Valiant Hearts. It’s coming this summer and the debut teaser is now live.
This 2D narrative adventure inspired by Valiant Hearts: The Great War’s narrative tone and visuals is based on “a real family story” that follows “Liam, a British carpenter who volunteers to fight in World War II, and his daughter Rosie.” The game switches between Liam’s POV in key WWII battles and Rosie back home, where she receives her father’s letters as she struggles herself.
The journey, full of “love, courage, and loss,” will take players from the beaches of Normandy to the battle for Monte Cassino through the eyes of a soldier in the 8th British Army. You can find all the screenshots released so far below:
Wood Cabin Games is a small team based in Kazakhstan and the UK formed in 2022. The main inspiration behind the hard-hitting adventure is the real wartime story of the lead developer’s grandmother:
“Now 88, she became the starting point for the project — a way for her to see her father’s memory turned into something meaningful and lasting.”
