The second Bracket Stage day at MSI 2025 saw LPL team Anyone’s Legend (AL) make its international debut with a 3-1 victory over LTA North’s FlyQuest (FLY).

Despite securing a surprise game one victory, FlyQuest will meet Play-In team G2 Esports in an elimination match.

FlyQuest Successfully Scales Against AL

FlyQuest dominated heavily in its opening game at MSI 2025. Despite facing a fierce draft and suffering a death in the first minute, the LTA team managed to shut down the enemy Rumble while setting up Fahad ‘Massu’ Abdulmalek for success. On Senna, the bot-laner shredded through his opponents in the later stages of the game to end with an 8/1/17 performance.

Meanwhile, Anyone’s Legend’s Kim ‘Kael’ Jin-hong struggled to find an impact on Rakan. The support player was also repeatedly punished for stepping into unfavourable positions. Although AL claimed a few objectives, FLY traded with smart macro plays and superior skirmishing power. At 35:36, FlyQuest took over Anyone’s Legend’s base with 28 to 7 kills.

Anyone’s Legend Returns the Favour

For the second game, it was AL’s turn to take over. FlyQuest’s Gabriël ‘Bwipo’ Rau died early once again, this time, without any response from his team. This led to a disastrous early game for FLY with all lanes falling behind. On top of that, Li ‘Flandre’ Xuanjun on Yorick was allowed to relentlessly farm his way across the top lane. FLY had no chance of slowing down Flandre’s 7/0/3 domination.

In the mid-game, the LTA squad was occupied with damage control while Anyone’s Legend successfully stacked dragons to secure its winning condition. Fuelled by a Baron buff, the LPL team then evened out the match score in under 28 minutes.

Game three kicked off more slowly as both teams were hesitant to commit to team fights. It took until minute 13 for Anyone’s Legend to slay the first dragon of the game. Although FLY led in kills and traded turrets and objectives with its opponent, its team composition began to struggle later on.

The team was forced to go against AL’s strong scaling and team fighting draft, featuring Sion, Azir and Braum. While FLY could swing some skirmishes in its favour, it lost all contests for crucial objectives, such as the drakes and Baron. After 35 minutes, AL simply marched into the enemy base to reach match point.

Anyone’s Legend Looks Clean in Game Four

The series continued with difficult drafts for FLY. For the final game of the series, AL picked a powerful Poppy-Aurora combination, allowing Cui ‘Shanks’ Xiaojun to showcase why he is considered one of the best Aurora players worldwide. Similar to the previous game, both teams started relatively even with cross-map trades for kills and objectives.

However, AL soon established an ever-growing gold lead, which slowly suffocated FLY for resources. Despite FlyQuest’s valiant attempts, Anyone’s Legend felt unkillable during major team fights, forcing its opponent to first concede key objectives and then the nexus at 32:57.

What’s Next at MSI 2025?

Following Anyone’s Legend’s victory today, the LPL squad will continue its upper-bracket run with a series against yesterday’s winner, Gen.G Esports, on July 4th. The day after, FLY and G2 Esports will fight for survival in the tournament.

Until then, fans can witness three more teams make their debut at this year’s MSI. First, KOI will face off against Play-In Stage winner Bilibili Gaming at 8 pm BST later today. On July 4th at 1 am BST, LCP’s CTBC Flying Oyster will compete against last year’s World Champion T1.

Fans can tune into all MSI matches through the official Twitch and YouTube broadcasts as well as associated co-streamers.
