Battlefield 6 on PC is the best way to experience the return of the long-running military FPS series. Aside from more graphics options and mouse & keyboard controls, it also gives advanced users the ability to tweak settings directly on the config file and to back them up ahead of tests. Here’s how to find and open the Battlefield 6 config file on PC.
DICE games built with Frostbite have traditionally been easy to tweak outside the in-game settings menu, so veteran players won’t be shocked to learn the BF6 config file hasn’t changed substantially. As always, make sure to make a copy of it before attempting any changes, as you might break some settings that don’t show up in-game for a reason.
Battlefield 6 Config File Location
You won’t have to dig very deep to find BF6’s config file folder. Please note this location contains the main configuration file which governs the settings that can be altered in-game as well as some unused features lines which may or may not be added to the game in the future.
- C:\Users\%USERPROFILE%\Documents\Battlefield 6\settings\PROFSAVE_profile
At the time of writing, it’s advised to ignore the PROFSAVE file which sits next to the one we’re pointing you towards. If you’re planning to make any changes to either of them, let us remind you to make a backup before moving ahead. If you’re missing a backup and want to roll back changes to the file, you might be forced to delete the folder and have the game recreate it upon startup.
To back the configuration file up, just copy & paste it with a different name inside the same folder or elsewhere. To restore it, just give it its original name back and place it again in the config folder.
