Spain-based Night Council Studio has been making noise for a while now with Dark Atlas: Infernum, a narrative-heavy first-person survival horror game which tells “an esoteric end of the world.” Now, it has locked a release date and dropped a demo on Steam and PS5.
The playable demo has arrived as part of the Horror Game Awards Showcase, which is the perfect destination for all horror aficionados as we prepare for Halloween. Though Dark Atlas: Infernum is coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, the latter isn’t getting the demo (at least for now). If you’d rather wait for the whole thing unspoiled, you’ll be delighted to learn it opens its gates on November 14.

“In Dark Atlas, you step into the role of Natalia Asensio, Grand Master of a secret esoteric order. As the world crumbles and interdimensional horrors seep into reality, Natalia awakens in a dark, dust-filled basement drugged, disoriented, and plagued by disembodied voices whispering cryptic orders. She must confront a terrifying blend of physical and psychological threats, where every step could lead to salvation… or madness.”
On top of all the spookiness and its (supposedly) mind-bending story, Dark Atlas: Infernum is promising immersive first-person mechanics, stealth and strategy to avoid enemies over combat encounters, and a playful soundscape which can both unsettle and give you much-needed clues.
