Fortnite has officially unveiled its collaboration with the KPop Demon Hunters movie, which is set to launch on October 2nd.
Epic Games dropped a teaser giving fans a glimpse of the in-game items and the new mode arriving as part of the crossover.
“You ready for the takedown? Tomorrow we’ll show you how it’s done, done, done,” Fortnite officially tweeted.
Players will be able to play as HUNTR/X’s Rumi, Mira, and Zoey in the limited-time Demon Rush mode to battle demons and seal the honmoon.
In addition to this, Rumi’s Empowered Sword and Zoey’s Golden Bubble Shield will provide extra buffs in combat.
Other items that will hit the Battle Royale, Blitz, and Reload modes include Mira’s X-tra Spicy Ramyeon and the Derpy Teleporter Mask.
Fortnite Storm Surge Update
Starting October 2nd, Storm Surge will be calculated using net damage rather than total damage dealt in Performance Evaluation Cups. In addition to this, damage needs to be exchanged with players who aren’t downed, and the net damage will be tracked throughout the entire match.
This change is aimed at fixing the issue of surge trading, though it has received mixed reactions from the community.
“Great to see some changes made to address surge trading. Bit concerned about how this plays out long term: If a team drops middle map and does 100 damage what stops them from boxing up in metal for the entire mid game now?” a user shared on X.
“In short, it means you should avoid surge trading and instead focus on landing single hits to deal damage to the enemy. Using wkey is acceptable, but it carries the risk of lowering your damage ratio, so it’s dangerous,” said another.
It will be interesting to see how the change will affect the overall strategies; however, it seems like a good first step.
