Valorant Champions Paris Grand Final Could Finally Settle Season’s Best Rivalry

In front of a huge crowd at the Accor Arena in Paris, France, Valorant Champions Paris is set to come to a thrilling conclusion. With finals weekend (October 3-5) looming, and only four teams remaining, we could see Paper Rex and Fnatic settling a long-time rivalry if everything falls into place.

Fnatic will face the hope of the Americas region, NRG, in the upper bracket final of the playoffs. Paper Rex will fight for survival in the lower bracket semifinal against fellow Pacific team, DRX.

Fnatic is a slight favorite to beat NRG, while Paper Rex is a firm favorite to win against DRX. This puts Paper Rex and Fnatic on a possible collision course in the grand final (or the lower bracket final) of Champions Paris.

For those who haven’t been following, Fnatic delivered a devastating 2-1 reverse-sweep to Paper Rex in the upper bracket semifinal at Champions Paris, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Fnatic vs. Paper Rex Rivalry By The Numbers

Before the start of finals weekend, considering all performances at Champions Paris and the VCT 2025 season thus far, Fnatic and Paper Rex couldn’t be any closer on the Valorant Global Power Rankings. Fnatic is #2 with 1614 points, while Paper Rex is #3 with 1612 points as per the official rankings page.

The Fnatic vs. Paper Rex rivalry goes deeper than just a reverse-sweep in the upper bracket semifinal in Paris.

It’s worth noting that these two teams have clashed before at the world’s most significant international events.

Paper Rex drew first blood in the upper bracket semifinals at Masters Copenhagen back in 2022. Head-to-head stats show Fnatic have won three matches, while Paper Rex have won two. However, the teams are dead even (7-7) in terms of map wins. Since their first clash, the teams have consistently traded blows in critical matches.

Check out the complete match record between Paper Rex and Fnatic below, starting with the most recent results:

  • Fnatic 2 – 1 Paper Rex (Champions Paris upper bracket semifinal)
  • Fnatic 2 – 1 Paper Rex (Esports World Cup 2025 semifinal)
  • Paper Rex 3 – 1 Fnatic (Masters Toronto 2025 grand final)
  • Fnatic 2 – 0 Paper Rex (Masters Tokyo 2023 upper bracket semifinal)
  • Paper Rex 2 – 0 Fnatic (Masters Copenhagen 2022 upper bracket semifinal)

The long and short of it is simply: don’t miss the thrilling conclusion of Champions Paris during finals weekend (October 3-5), where a world champion will be crowned.
