Tottenham Hotspur and North American esports platform PlayVS have joined forces to launch a new gaming initiative in the United States.

The Tottenham Hotspur Game to Glory initiative aims to utilise esports as a means to boost fan engagement.

According to a release, students aged between 13 and 22 will have an opportunity to compete in ‘branded competitions and interactive livestreams,’ to give fans another way of connecting with the Premier League football club.

Two EA Sports FC competitions will take place throughout October, culminating in a live final on November 10, 2025.

“This programme is truly unique, and PlayVS is proud to partner with Tottenham Hotspur to bring the excitement and passion to their club to students across the U.S.,” said Jon Chapman, CEO of PlayVS.

“Together, we’re opening new ways for young fans to connect with one of the world’s most iconic soccer clubs while building community and inspiring the next generation.”

For PlayVS, partnering with Tottenham Hotspur is another notable name joining its expanding portfolio. In August, it secured a deal with The Pokémon Company to add Pokémon UNITE to its scholastic esports leagues.

Football Clubs In Esports

Tottenham is the latest football club to embark on an esports initiative, continuing a trend of using competitive gaming as a fan engagement tool.

In recent years, the likes of Manchester City and SC Internacional have launched their own projects, which often involve fielding rosters in various esports titles.

Alongside clubs turning to esports, esports organisations have also expanded their operations into the world of football. In April 2025, G2 Esports launched the G2 Football Club to compete in Kings League Germany, a seven-a-side football league founded by Spanish streamer Ibai Llanos and former Barcelona player Gerard Piqué.
