Mobile Legends: Bang Bang league MPL Philippines has postponed its Week 6, Day 1 matches due to the severe tropical storm Bualoi.
The storm, which was classified by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) as Typhoon Opong, made six landfalls across the islands of the country on September 25th. It reportedly caused 10 deaths with more than 87,000 people being displaced to safer areas or evacuation centres.
The MPL Committee has now said that the matches originally scheduled for September 26th will be moved to September 29th, following guidance from PAGASA and the league’s safety team.
As per the updated schedule, ONIC vs AP Bren is set for 5 PM (GMT +8) followed by RSG against Team Liquid at 7:30 PM (GMT +8).
Matches set for September 27th and 28 will proceed as planned, though the MPL PH Committee said it’s continuing to monitor official weather advisories and on-ground conditions.
Ticketholders for the postponed matches will not need to take further action, as their tickets remain valid for the rescheduled date.
Refunds are available upon request via Tickelo, with the organiser noting that all requests will be processed individually to accommodate fans unable to attend.
Aurora Gaming Lead MPL PH
Currently, Aurora Gaming, which placed 4th last season, is on top of the standings after six weeks of matches. The team is followed by ONIC PH and Team Liquid.
Aurora, along with Team Liquid, has already confirmed its slot in the MPL PH playoffs. However, teams will aim for the best performance over the remaining matches to secure a top-two spot in the standings, earning a bye in the playoffs as a result.
The playoffs are set to happen from October 22nd to 26th, with the top six teams from the regular season competing. The top two teams from here will qualify for the M7 World Championship.
