Esports organisation Echo Esports has announced a ‘long-term’ World of Warcraft-focused partnership with gaming marketplace G2A.COM.
The new agreement is said to span ‘at least’ one year and includes the online platform sponsoring Echo Esports’ WoW raid team streams, in addition to activations during broadcasts.
The partnership between the two officially began during the Manaforge Omega Race to World First event, where the team finished second place behind Team Liquid. The two parties have also worked together in the past, forming a one-off partnership during the Liberation of Undermine race.
Looking ahead, fans can expect new activations and collaborative formats in the next few months, with announcements shared through G2A’s social media accounts.
Echo Esports is among many esports stakeholders that have collaborated with G2A as the marketplace continues to utilise the esports sector for marketing opportunities. Some of its previous notable team partners include G2 Esports and NAVI.
World of Warcraft Events This Year
There are numerous esports events this year for World of Warcraft fans to enjoy.
Both the Mythic Dungeon International and Arena World Championship return as part of the Ghosts of K’aresh update, with cups and time trials beginning on October 1st, 2025. Both tournaments are also scheduled to hold international Grand Finals events in November to decide the best teams in the World of Warcraft competitive scene.
Various esports events have also proven to be popular this year, such as the Creator Clash during Gamescom 2025. It saw Arenas, a deathmatch-style PVP event featuring top esports players from the Arena World Championship. There was also Dungeons, a speed-running event sharing many similarities to the world first races, and Housing, an interior design competition centred around World of Warcraft’s new housing feature.
Earlier this year, World of Warcraft developer Blizzard Entertainment announced a creator tournament for the MMORPG’s new battle royale mode, Plunderstorm. 60 popular streamers and influencers, such as Jeremy ‘Disguised Toast‘ Wang, competed in duos for a $50,000 prize pool.
First released in 2004, World of Warcraft has been a massively popular and successful MMORPG, expanding into a global phenomenon played by millions. The eleventh expansion, Midnight, is set to release on June 30th, 2026 as part of the game’s Worldsoul saga.
