Midlaner Loïc ‘Toucouille’ Dubois has announced a return to pro League of Legends after a previous health scare.
Toucouille is currently a content creator and streamer for Brazilian organisation Ilha das Lendas but previously competed alongside FlyQuest, Team GO and Keyd Stars. His fans remember his potential a few years ago, but Toucouille has recently been dealing with serious health issues that held him back from competing.
“Go Ahead and Insult Me”: Toucouille Shows New Mindset After Serious Health Diagnosis
In May 2025, Toucouille revealed to his followers that he was diagnosed with Chiari Malformation, which had been causing him severe pain. On X, he wrote: “In the coming months, I’ll need to step away from streaming. I’ve received a serious diagnosis — Chiari Malformation — which is compressing a sensitive part of my brain.
“I’ll be undergoing a delicate surgery to protect my health and my future.”
While afraid, Toucouille stated that he couldn’t really put off the surgery any longer due to the risks involved with the diagnosis.
In August, Toucouille checked in with fans, giving them an update on his health. He had flown to see doctors in France but was ‘disappointed’ in his options and flew back to Brazil. By early August, he reported improvement by ‘70%.’
In late September, Toucouille said that he can ‘handle playing League of Legends for 10 hours a day again.’ But instead of returning to streaming, Toucouille plans to compete.
“Now I’m dreaming of going back to being a pro player, and I’m going to dedicate myself in the coming weeks to start training again and see how far I get,” Toucouille wrote. “Life has given me another chance to fulfill my dreams, and I’m not going to waste it.”
Toucouille has competed in the LFL, LCS and CBLOL in the past. It’s unclear where Toucouille will head next, but the French player is currently in Brazil. Fans have started spamming him with requests to join paiN Gaming despite its underwhelming current performance and tough fanbase.
“After thinking for a month that my life was over, I don’t even care about the fans’ pressure anymore,” Toucouille told one fan. “Go ahead and insult me, I like it.”
Only time will tell where Toucouille will ultimately end up, but fans are rooting for him to go after his dreams either way.
While competing for FlyQuest in 2022, Toucouille had stated: “I just want to go to Worlds. This year, I was not too disappointed not going to Worlds. It’s still my first year, and is still very early in my career. But yeah, I definitely want to go to Worlds, and just going to playoffs.”
