Management sims are on the rise nowadays, but we’re not seeing much movement on the innkeeper/tavern sim front. General Interactive Co. is about to change that with The Diner at the End of the Galaxy, a game that aims to give us exactly what its title says.
What if you were tasked with running the Mos Eisley cantina day after day? How would you please the human and alien clientele? What about troublemakers? Well, The Diner at the End of the Galaxy doesn’t take place in the Star Wars universe, but we’re definitely thinking about that wretched (and iconic) hive of scum and villainy.
“Build grand dining halls, busy kitchens, and outdoor gardens where exotic crops thrive,” the official Steam game description teases. “Design a menu that caters to the diverse preferences of your alien clientele,” it also adds before revealing we’ll have to serve filthy rich nobles and regular traders too. Long story short: All the peoples in the galaxy are welcome!
Though General Interactive Co. and publisher PlayWay S.A. have been keeping most of the development in the shadows, the game’s latest trailer (which is quite brief and can be watched below) reveals that we’ll be seeing the public early access release happen in late September or October despite all evidence pointing to a more distant drop:
The Diner at the End of the Galaxy is coming exclusively to Steam Early Access this fall unless there’s a last-minute delay. No plans to release the game on other platforms have been announced.
