Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown’s release date puts the fate of the iconic starship in our hands, tasking us with navigating the Delta Quadrant while juggling survival, strategy, and roguelike elements in what sounds like a rather eclectic mixture for video games using the wildly popular IP.
Published by Daedalic Entertainment and developed by Gamexcite, the title gives us control of the U.S.S. Voyager after it is forcefully moved to the Delta Quadrant. Patching up the heavily damaged ship is but one of several things on our to-do list, which evolves as we explore the region. As we face new dangers and discoveries, we must make choices that aren’t without consequences, all while striving to stay alive for the journey back home.

Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown sees us managing the ship, its crew, and resources while making decisions when encountering difficult situations.
It promises plenty of freedom to explore different scenarios – like completely foregoing diplomacy in favor of violence or crew members embracing Borg technology – while adding in roguelike elements to dial up replayability.
As we secure the resources to repair the ship’s heavily damaged interiors and exteriors, we’ll restore destroyed rooms, bring ship systems back online and give our crew a place to rest as well as industrial and research facilities to aid their efforts.
Proper prioritization can make the difference between a failed run and a successful one. Research can then improve both the ship and the morale of our crew, and we’ll need plenty of the latter while exploring the Delta Quadrant, which harbors its fair share of opportunities but also danger.
We can scan celestial bodies to secure resources, discover various points of interest and, perhaps, other mysteries.
Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown also sees us sending teams on away missions. Picking the members whose skills are best suited for each situation is our responsibility, as is guiding the crew and ship through space combat, should diplomacy not be an option.
The skills of our crew members continue to play an important role here, as we give them “commands for offensive and defensive maneuvers, targeting enemy ship systems and using special weaponry.”
