Not only is EA’s new soccer game coming out again this year, but the helpful apps for Ultimate Team are also ready to go.

The virtual players are already warming up, because EA Sports FC 26 is coming out soon! As every year, September is peak soccer season for gaming fans, as EA’s incredibly popular soccer series is released.

This now includes the annual release of the so-called web app or companion app. You can find all the information about it here.

Update from September 17, 2025: Electronic Arts has officially confirmed the release date for the web and companion app.

Release: These are the launch times for the apps

So far, there is no official release date for the two apps. However, EA follows the same pattern every year. Therefore, we can predict relatively accurately when exactly it will start:

  • Release of the web app: The web app will launch on September 17.
  • Release of the companion app: The companion app will follow a little later, on September 18.
  • Time: Both apps should be available in this country from around 7 p.m.

What are the reasons for these times?

Generally, the web app is always released two days before the early access launch of EA FC 26, while the companion app is released one day later. However, there is currently conflicting information about early access. EA sometimes mentions September 19 and sometimes September 18. Therefore, the release date of the web app is also unclear.

Could this still change?

Yes, theoretically, changes could occur. The release of the app could still be slightly delayed. However, it is also quite possible that the app will be released, but the servers will immediately crash. This happens almost every year, as the rush for the release is always very high. So it’s best to wait a little until the servers are stable again.

Where can I get the app?

Getting the app is not particularly difficult. You don’t have to pay anything for it either:

  • You can get the web app  on the official website. You will then need to log in with your EA account.
  • The companion app is available for smartphones. You can get it from the iOS App Store or Google Play Store:

Please note that you can only use the app if you have already played Ultimate Team in a previous version. Otherwise, you will have to wait until EA FC 26 is released and then start your Ultimate Team journey there.

What is included in the app?

The web app and companion app are primarily designed to allow you to manage your Ultimate Team without having to start the game on your PC or console every time. You have access to most of the important management functions here – but of course, you’ll still have to play in your living room. The app’s features include:

  • You have access to the transfer market, where you can buy and sell cards.
  • You can use the app for Squad Building Challenges and unlock rewards.
  • You can purchase new packs, open them, and then use the cards.
  • You can customize your club and change things like jerseys or stadiums.

All in all, there’s a lot you can do to get ready to play right away when the game is released. You can get your team in position and save time when EA Sports FC 26 is actually released. You can see which players are particularly worthwhile this year in the current ratings. The ratings of the best Bundesliga players can be found in the link above.
