GamerLegion has announced that Jeremy “Kursy” Gast will be departing its active Counter-Strike 2 roster after just two months, in favour of 21-year-old Polish AWPer, Milan “hypex” Polowiec.
hypex becomes the latest to leave Betclic Apogee
hypex is the second player to depart Betclic Apogee for a Tier 1 team in recent months. This move followed Jakub “jcobbb” Pietruszewski, who recently joined FaZe Clan to replace Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski.
Betclic Apogee impressed at PGL Bucharest, claiming wins over The MongolZ and Astralis. The young star recorded a 1.08 rating across 10 maps, but his team was ultimately eliminated 2-3 from the Swiss stage.
That rating improves when looking at hypex’s stats across 2025, with his 1.14 rating in all matches showing big improvement compared to his 1.07 from 2024.
He now replaces Kursy on GamerLegion, who has struggled ever since joining the organisation. A relative unknown prior to the move, whose only mildly known team had been GenOne, Kursy was always a surprising pick up. The team will now be moving on from him despite recent reassurances from their coach, Ashley “Ash” Battye.
Unfortunately for the Frenchman, he proved to be ill-suited for Tier 1 Counter-Strike 2, registering an incredibly poor 0.94 rating in the 33 maps played since joining in July.
There have been flashes of potential: he had a strong showing on his second map with the team against Wildcard, and subsequent strong maps versus BIG and Vitality suggested there may be room for improvement. However, with the Major and the inevitable subsequent roster shuffle fast approaching, it appears GamerLegion has run out of patience in exploring that potential with Kursy and will now look to play in the biggest tournament of the year with hypex.

Staring down the barrel
GamerLegion’s final event with Kursy will be FISSURE Playground 2, a $1,250,000 event currently taking place in Belgrade, Serbia.
It didn’t get off to a strong start in the tournament; the squad was dominated by Chinese team TYLOO as it managed to secure just seven rounds to fall 0-1. However, it bounced back in the second game, limiting Team Liquid to seven rounds as, ironically, Kursy starred with a 16-4 statline on map one, Dust2.
In its 1-1 game, GamerLegion will face French team 3DMAX, who upset The MongolZ in its opening but were then defeated by FaZe to head into the 1-1 bracket.
