Shopify Rebellion has announced that it is disbanding its VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) Challengers roster, Shopify Rebellion Black.
All five players are parting ways with the organisation after several months of competitive play and a disappointing end to the season.
This includes:
- Brendan ‘BcJ‘ Jensen
- Ludovic ‘MonSi‘ Lefebvre – joined February 18th.
- Amarri ‘Pa1nt‘ Peak
- Jake ‘Paincakes‘ Hass
- Adam ‘spaz‘ Laamoumi
Following the announcement, several of SR Black’s former players have since shared that they are looking for other teams to sign with.
Shopify Rebellion Black’s History in VALORANT
The majority of the roster originally competed as Moist x Shopify, a joint venture between Shopify Rebellion and Moist Esports, spearheaded by streamers and co-owners Charles ‘MoistCr1TiKaL‘ White and Ludwig Ahgren.
On January 17th, the roster would shift to just the Shopify Rebellion name. On January 22nd, the team would be renamed to Shopify Rebellion Black to avoid confusion with its Game Changers roster, which was rebranded to Shopify Rebellion Gold (SR Gold).
Since joining the organisation, the Shopify Rebellion Black roster has experienced both highs and lows in the VALORANT ecosystem. The team started off strong by winning the North America Stage 1 tournament after winning 3-1 against M80 in the Grand Finals.
The roster wasn’t as fortunate in the stages afterwards. In North America Stage 2, it placed 13th in the Swiss Stage after losing 1-2 to Blue Otter, and in Stage 3, it placed 12th following a 1-2 loss against YFP.
Before the disbandment announcement, the roster last competed in the Bell Esports Challenge 2025 event. It placed second overall, just missing out on qualifying for the Red Bull Home Ground 2025 event, after losing to Cubert Academy 2-0 in the Grand Finals.
