The esports branch of German football club RB Leipzig (RBLZ Gaming) has announced the signing of Donovan ‘Tekkz’ Hunt for the upcoming EA FC 26 competitive season.

The British player has found a new home after he departed Manchester City last week and will now represent RB Leipzig going forward.

The 24-year-old is one of the most successful FIFA and EA FC players in the world, having won the FIFA eClub World Cup in 2019. Tekkz previously played for The F2, Fnatic, and Liverpool FC prior to joining Manchester City in 2024, where he won back-to-back ePremier League titles and got to the top eight at this year’s FC Pro World Championship.

Additionally, the EA FC player represented the England national team over the past years at the FIFAe Nations Series, although with mixed results.

Thanks to his competitive experience and accolades in the EA FC scene, Tekkz is also one of the leading creators, having nearly one million subscribers on YouTube and over 200,000 followers on both X and Instagram. According to a release, Tekkz has plans to start streaming more often and be more present for his community.

RB Leipzig to field a star-studded lineup for 2026

Ever since its creation back in 2020, RBLZ Gaming has been one of the leading forces when it comes to EA FC. The team has been fighting consistently for the top spots at a national level and locked out the top two in the latest Virtual Bundesliga (VBL) season.

The esports organisation has a total of six players, with Tekkz replacing the departing Norwegian player Anders ‘Vejrgang’ Vejrgang, who joined Team Falcons last month.

Other key players in RBLZ include the likes of German player Levy ‘levyfinn‘ Finn Rieck and Guilherme ‘GuiBarros‘ Barros, who had eliminated Tekkz at the FC Pro World Championship in quarterfinals.

Tekkz commented on his new adventure: “I decided to leave Manchester City and join RBLZ Gaming because I felt I needed a change. Leipzig clearly showed me their plan, and that was exciting.

“At this point in my career, it was the best step forward for me. My main goal is still to win the FC Pro World Championship. It’s been a good step forward recently, and I’m happy with my performance—but I know I can play much better. I need to close games more consistently when I’m leading. That will make the difference between the top 8 and winning the tournament.”
