Riot Games has announced that ‘no disciplinary action’ will be taken against VCT EMEA player Dawid ‘PROFEK‘ Święc.

The decision comes following an investigation into a video that surfaced online from 2022, where the BBL Esports member was found using offensive language.

The developer stated that the decision was made because the incident occurred before PROFEK was competing professionally within the VALORANT esports ecosystem. Therefore, it was not ‘within the scope’ of Riot Games’ Esports Global Code of Conduct.

At the end of the announcement, Riot Games further added that it reserves the right to reopen the investigation should ‘new information or evidence’ surface.

PROFEK’s Response to Riot Games’ Decision

PROFEK has since responded to Riot Games’ statement, stating that the decision ‘means a lot’ to the BBL Esports player.

“First of all, I want to apologise for my past actions when I was [a] teenager,” said the player on X in a lengthy statement.

“I sincerely apologise to everyone I have offended. After four years, I have grown a lot as a person, and I understand my horrible mistakes. And trust me, I really mean it. I also want to thank my friends and BBL fans who were supporting me in this situation.”

Riot Games first addressed the situation on August 30th, when it shared that it was ‘aware of the video’ involving PROFEK. The video in question was posted on X (formerly Twitter), and saw the pro player use offensive language during a ranked match in 2022.

However, in line with disciplinary procedures, the BBL Esports player was still allowed to compete in VCT EMEA while the investigation was ongoing. As such, PROFEK continued to play for BBL Esports in VCT EMEA Stage 2.

BBL Esports Place Third in VCT EMEA Stage 2

On August 30th, BBL Esports played in the Lower Bracket Finals against GIANTX after losing to Team Liquid 2-1 in the Upper Bracket Finals the day prior. PROFEK was present for this game, but despite having a full squad, the roster lost 0-3 to GIANTX.

“The most disappointing thing for me was the last game vs GIANTX,” PROFEK added. “I couldn’t be there for the team. The whole emotions which were in that moment were super hard for me to step up and help the team, just as I always did in every match I played for BBL.”

Without placing in the top two of the Stage 2 tournament and placing fifth overall in the EMEA Championship Point standings, BBL Esports did not qualify for VALORANT Champions 2025 in Paris.
